There’s no such thing as an off season when it comes to Putnam County Football. The football boys spent their summer in the weight room to stay on their A game, but that is not all they did this summer. The team decided to give back to their community and fans by volunteering at the local Hy-Vee to carry out groceries, stock shelves, and clean the store.
For the 2018 varsity football season, Coach Clyde Bondy stepped up as head coach, followed by Coach Brian Mayer, Coach Chris Lindoff, and Coach Bryson Dinwiddie. This year’s seniors consist of Tyron C., Levi F., Will W., Hollister S., Cody P., and Caleb B. The varsity team kicked off the season with a 26-12 win against Bishop Leblond. After a Friday night in front of their fans, the boys spent the following Sunday evening watching film as a team to better their plays.
Quarterback, Levi F. says he could not be more excited for his final season under the lights. He is ready to leave it all out on the field one last time.
