This week is National School Counseling Week, so we are showing our appreciation for our amazing counselor Ms. Miller, who has been serving as a school counselor since 1999. She says one of the most enjoyable parts of being a counselor for her is being able to help a child with their day or grades. Ms. Miller also stated that she loves being able to help with bigger issues as well, especially in today’s world when stress is high for many high school students. When asked why Ms. Miller chose to become a counselor, she said that in the Education field, you are always pushing yourself for a higher degree and she had always wanted to do something in the psychology field. So, she chose to get her Master’s Degree in Counseling.

She said that being a counselor, some days she gets all of her work done on her “list” and other days she is nonstop helping others. Her hobbies include going to auctions and finding antiques and reading (one of her favorite authors is Jody Pacolt), shopping, and eating out at restaurants. If she had any job other than counseling she would love to be a wedding planner/event planner.

Show some love and appreciation to Ms. Carla Miller this week anytime you see her. Thank you, Ms. Miller for being an amazing counselor and a wonderful person! If you see your building counselor this week, be sure to thank them for all of their dedication and hard work!
